Where damage to a person's teeth is extreme or in cases of decay, fractures, or old fillings, we can use porcelain crowns to make the smile appear "as new". This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using this technology.

These treatments are used for a long lasting correction of major dental problems. It is usual for these treatments to last for 20 to 30 years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

Bonding is an alternative to veneers, and can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored or misaligned.

The tooth is prepared for the procedure by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, Dr. Barrett applies a plastic resin and sculpts it into the desired shape. Once set, the resin is trimmed, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

Placing custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill, as well as attention to cosmetic detail. We place veneers routinely, and design each case individually to match and enhance the characteristics of each patient's smile.

Our back teeth are noticeable when we talk and especially when we laugh. Seeing dark, unsightly areas of metal can detract from what otherwise might be a perfect set of teeth.

Now there are fillings available that are specially designed to match the natural color of the tooth.

These directly placed, bonded resin fillings can make a tooth look like new, whether they are used for small areas of decay, or to replace current fillings.

A bridge is a device used to replace missing teeth. It attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges are either permanently attached (fixed bridges), or they can be removable.

Fixed bridges are applied by either placing crowns on the abutment teeth or by bonding the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth. Removable bridges are attached to the teeth with metal clasps or by precision attachments.

If you're missing one or more teeth, you may be aware of their importance to your appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together for many daily functions from eating to speaking. With missing teeth, it's difficult to do these things. Missing teeth can and should be replaced. Fixed bridges are a great way to restore your dental health and appearance.

An implant is a titanium post that simulates a tooth root by being placed in your jaw bone. Once the implant is completely integrated into the bone, it can be used as an anchor for a single crown or multiple crowns.

In the first one or two appointments, the post (or anchor) is implanted in the jaw. The replacement tooth, bridge, or denture is fitted and installed when the bone and gums have healed.

One of the first things you notice about people is their smile. When you meet someone with a bright, natural smile, it catches your attention.

Over time, the natural aging process combined with your lifestyle and habits, such as drinking coffee, tea, wine, or smoking, can stain your teeth. To get your smile back, you can lighten your teeth.

Some gingival (gum) tissue can appear too long and make front teeth look short. This can also occur after removing braces on teenagers or adults. In one procedure, a laser can quickly and painlessly enhance your smile and improve your appearance.

Periodontal or gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surrounds and supports your teeth. It is a leading cause of tooth loss in American adults. Plaque is the sticky film of bacteria that is brushed and flossed away with proper oral care. When left on the teeth, plaque produces toxins that attack below the gum line in the sulcus, a shallow v-shaped crevice located between the teeth and gums. This causes the bond between teeth and gums to break down.

In the early stage of gum disease (gingivitis), gums may become red and swollen and bleed easily. In the more advanced stage (periodontal disease), teeth can loosen and fall out.

The pockets can be reduced and the bleeding can be stopped by using the dental laser. We will be happy to discuss your individual case with you today.
